Not sure if it should go here but I couldn't find more suitable section on the forum (Craig, feel free to move it).
I gave a lightning talk at BruCON (
http://2010.brucon.org/) about DIY grid computing, how it can be done in-house at very very low budget and used with some really great effect.
This is a project I've created to help myself and my friend at work finish the job faster than it would take normally, so we got down from 7-9 months (wall clock time) using single, beefy machine, down to...
12 days including platform development (3 days planning/dev from initial idea to working grid - part time between other tasks). The project was dormant for over a year and I got back to it in March, trying to push it forward... and there will be some nice things coming hopefully soon (if only I get some more time to finish it off).
