Target Audience Organizations managing multi-account AWS environments.

CloudCheckr CMx addresses the complex challenges of managing multi-account AWS environments by providing a comprehensive cloud management platform integrated with AWS native services. This integration, part of the AWS Built-in program, automates the deployment and configuration of CloudCheckr within the customer's environment, streamlining the process and reducing the time and complexity associated with manual setup.

The technical architecture of CloudCheckr CMx is designed to offer deep visibility into cloud infrastructure, enabling organizations to manage costs, optimize resources, enhance security, and ensure compliance. It leverages hundreds of best practice checks based on regulatory frameworks such as CIS, NIST, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS, to identify and remediate misconfigurations and vulnerabilities. The platform also integrates with AWS Control Tower, allowing for the automatic enrollment of new AWS accounts into CloudCheckr CMx, thereby simplifying the management of multiple accounts through Multi-Account Views (MAV).

Operationally, CloudCheckr CMx provides real-time monitoring and analytics, delivering interactive dashboards and granular reports on cloud spend and resource utilization. It helps in optimizing cloud costs by identifying idle or underutilized resources, rightsizing instances, and optimizing Reserved Instances and Savings Plans. However, the platform's effectiveness can be limited by the complexity of the underlying AWS environment and the need for continuous updates to its best practice checks to keep pace with evolving regulatory requirements.

From a technical standpoint, CloudCheckr CMx supports automated invoice generation, cost allocation, and resource inventory management. It also offers robust security and compliance features, including automated self-healing for identified vulnerabilities. While the platform is highly scalable, its performance can be impacted by the volume of data being analyzed, particularly in large, multi-account environments.
